Map of the Day: Google Maps, NYC Edition

2007_2_googlemetro.jpg

Google Maps has added two useful features: subway stations and building outlines. The subways are indicated with an M on the map (Metro? MTA?), and the building outlines can be seen, faintly, in magnifications at the top two zoom levels. For instance, you can see them here, around Broadway and Lafayette.

You can get similar info at OnNYTurf and PropertyShark, but for those of you who already use Google Maps, this is definitely a handy little addition.

hospitals too!

but nothing above 60th st (at least, not yet)

So far all of Manhattan below Central Park, and "downtown" Brooklyn...wonder if they intend to do all of NYC and other cities...

Its deinitely an improvement to Google maps, but I like the mini property reports and building photos on propertyshark.com much better. I am surprised Citysearch has not licensed propertysharks photos for their listings.

oasisnyc.net can do this (and more) for the entire city. I don't think they indicate street direction, but you can get subway stops, schools, churches, empty lots...tons of stuff.

Lookup more building outlines on satellitepictures easy by address and worldwide?
