Last Night's Action: No Kobe No Problem

2006_04_sknickslogo.jpg

  • Knicks 99 Lakers 94: Once again the Knicks showed the inability to take care of the basketball, but with Kobe Bryant suspended, the Lakers couldn’t take advantage. New York committed 21 turnovers, but enjoyed a 48-33 rebounding advantage and put also held LA to .44% from the field.

Jared Jeffries was back in the starting lineup and responded with 14 points while Eddy Curry and Stephon Marbury added 27 and 22 points apiece.

  • Atlanta 5 New Jersey 4 (shootout): The Devils engaged in an uncharacteristic display of offensive hockey and it cost them. Trying to keep pace with an impressive Thrasher’s offense, New Jersey took 40 shots, but also gave up 40. Atlanta scored twice in the shootout to earn the win.
  • Detroit 4 New York 3 (OT) : The Islanders had complete control of this game, leading 3-0 halfway through it, but then they collapsed down the stretch. Detroit tied things up in regulation and won it in overtime on a the second goal of the game by Henrik Zetterberg.
