Last Night's Action: Revenge Is Sweet

2006_04_sknickslogo.jpg

  • Knicks 116 Miami 96: When the matchup at center is Jerome James vs. Shaq you wouldn’t expect the Knicks to come out on top, but thanks to Jamal Crawford they did. Crawford hit sixteen-straight shots on his way to 52 points as New York routed Miami.

Besides the inspired play of Crawford, the Knicks finally made a lineup change. Jared Jeffries was sent to the bench and Channing Frye got the start. Jeffries only played 15 minutes while Frye played 37 and David Lee 29 coming off the bench. Hopefully, Isiah has finally realized that Frye and Lee deserve the time more than Jeffries.

  • Devils 2 Tampa Bay 0: The NHL returned to the ice and New Jersey didn’t miss a beat. Martin Brodeur had 28 saves and Brian Gionta and Jay Pandolfo had goals in the victory.
  • Atlanta 5 Islanders 4 (OT): Rick DiPietro might still be on his vacation as he was awful, giving up three goals in less than six minutes before getting pulled. New York staged a comeback, tying the game at 3 and then again at 4, but Ilya Kovalchuk scored in overtime to win the game.
