Schoolyard Fighting on YouTube
Kids and technology can be a bad idea, as some are filming their beatdowns of classmates for YouTube. The Post reported about "cyberbashing" yesterday and found some videos from the NYC area. Basically, it's just sick:
In one locally produced video, a mob of pupils from Lehman High School in The Bronx punches and kicks a freshman of Middle Eastern descent as he emerges from the Tremont East diner across the street.Critics of bullying warn that "the chances of even more violent retaliation become infinitely greater" because videos can be seen by many more people.They then shove him against a brick wall while he cowers from their blows. At least two other students, meanwhile, scramble to capture the twisted action on cellphone cameras.
The final, edited product, which runs nearly three minutes, comes complete with a hip-hop soundtrack and opening title - "Mamood Had a Bad Day!"
NY State does not have an anti-bullying law. The head of the NY State Chapter of BullyPolice.org Debra Shaw says, "What we're seeing are often criminal assaults. If a parent beat his own kid the way these kids are beating their classmates, that parent would be arrested and the child taken by authorities." Maybe this is an unspoken reason why homeschooling is so attractive to some.
And students in Quebec were "sent home" after they filmed a teacher losing his temper and posted the clip on YouTube. The kids apparently set-up the teacher, and other students notified administration, which asked YouTube to take down the clip. But the teacher, who is on voluntary sick leave, is so "embarrassed" that he may not return to teach.

This is just now getting through to the authorities? These vids have been all over the place for years. Usually it's just two kids rolling around in the schoolyard or sidewalk for two minutes.
This one seems particularly brutal though with one kid getting randomly beaten up by several others. If this was racially motivated, then you can bet your ass that "mamood" and his parents will have a great day in court.

Usually the combatants just give up after a while, as if both of them asked themselves simultaneously "why the hell am I doing this?"
There is one type of streetfight video, however, in which the combatants go after each other with pure savagery, trying desparately to inflict grave injury, and keep going until onlookers laboriously drag them apart.
Anyone care to guess what kind of fights those are?

Hope the authorities nail those guys. Regardless of "Bullying" It's Assault and possible conspiracy to commit a crime (i.e. the planning to jump and record it in advance)

Agreed. Quite honestly, why would you want to watch something like that? I think it's wise to not link to the videos. The less people who watch them and pay attention, the less they'll show up.
The problem is that every kid wants to be the next YouTube sensation.

The bully's are just not smart at all! Why the hell would you vidoetape your dirt ? That's just not smart, As far as the actual beating, I would have liked to see one of the victims get pissed off for the first time and turn the tables . That would be well worth watching, Seeing the victim turn around and whup the bully's ass ! Seriously, This is a crime and they should be charged here for the beating, As well as the videotaping of it . Dumb-asses
Upside? The video will be terrific evidence should there be criminal charges or a civil case.

Girlfights.
Girls may not fight as often as males do, but when they fight, they really fight.
The girl equivalent, while occasionally meaner, is much less "fun" to watch. (Not that I find any of this shit fun at all. Sick, maybe. But not fun)
Here's a breakdown of a possible girl equivalent.
Jen: "Hey Stacy. I'm going to call Kim and ask her what she really thinks about you. So be really quiet, ok?"
Stacy: "Ok."
(Jen three way calls Kim while Stacy remains quiet)
Kim: "Hello?"
Jen: "Hey Kim. What's up?"
Kim: "Not much"
Jen: "Did you see what Stacy was wearing today? Did you think she looked fat?"
Kim: "Totally. That girl is such a slut. What a skanky whore. I can't believe she really thinks I like her."
You get the picture.
Girls are cruel but in different ways. Girls are abused by other girls from the get-go.
Number 12, you have obviously not seen girls fight, and watching Mean Girls doesn't count. I mean all out, pulling hair and ripping clothes fight. Those bitches are crazy.

youtube AND google video are now blocked byt he DOR firewall and students and teachers can't get to their work.
given a chance to show how these sites can be put to good use we might forget about the stuff we rather not see on the internet.
I've seen girls fight but most of the time girls screw with girls mentally rather than physically. And mentally it can really screw a girl up. :] just sayin'
Horrified doesn't even begin to describe the way I feel after reading this story! Violence is still very much alive and well in this insane society and the public school system is truly a slaughterhouse for the mind. When my husband told me about what happened to this girl, I cried remembering the horrible beating I endured when I was 13. My mother was in complete denial over what happened and I was neither checked medically nor was a police report filed. I was taunted and bullied by a gang of girls, who made good on their threats by following me halfway home and beating me within inches of my life. This was a hate crime and they found every reason to hate me and every excuse to punch me and kick me! To top it off, the girl was humiliated; the public able to see the beating on youtube?! My gawd!!! This poor girl is going to be emotionally and physically scarred. Regardless of whether or not "injuries" were sustained, the point is that this girl suffered terrible physical and emotional trauma and this kind of thing doesn't just go away. It stays with you and follows you through life until the pain and hurt is healed through therapy and psychological treatment. I should know. It's high time that the public opens its eyes and stop being blind to the fact that public school is a violent place and increasing everyday! Why do you think "Columbine" happened? These are not random acts of violence. They are not only pre-meditated, but more importantly, they are well thought out and nothing is being learned from ANY of them!!! This afternoon on the way to my therapy appointment, I was behind a schoolbus and running on the sidewalk along side of it was a small boy making obnoxious obscene facial expressions and hand gestures to someone riding on the bus. Regardless of the reason, it's obvious that this kid has already been taught to behave like a lunatic monster and the stage has been set for a future of abuse, violence, and various violent crimes. If the parents and school officials and administrators don't want to see this, then they're blind and have their eyes closed! When are they going to learn, when dozens more kids' bodies have been violently beaten and tossed aside like garbage? It's 2007 and people need to wake up!
