Wednesday Early Edition: Food News

chinatown_website2a-1.jpgBruni one-stars Chinatown Brasserie; it's uneven, but he loves the dim sum. Especially the dumplings. "What's better than dumplings?" asks Frank. Gothamist has at times asked ourselves that same question.

And Eater is back on the money this week, giving Chinatown Brasserie one-star odds at 3-1.

Peter Meehan visits The Farm on Adderly in Brooklyn and likes what he sees (and tastes). "Simple dishes are the way to go," he says, and "for a place run by first-time restauranteurs, the Farm on Adderly is getting a lot of things right in the dining room."

In the Post, Cuozzo addresses the growing pains of Morimoto, Craftsteak and Del Posto. All are doing well, but because of their insane startup costs, they need to do extremely well. Which is good for the customers: reservations are easier to get, the restaurants are more welcoming, and service is better. Del Posto even has a Sunday night bargain menu (of sorts, which is to say it's still pricey but less so than usual).

And Braden Keil on the waxing and waning of the Grace & Jack Lamb East Village Empire: the latest being that Jewel Bako Makimoto has closed.
