Who's That Sweeping Your Sidewalk? Boy George!
Residents of Chinatown, Lower East Side, Soho, Nolita, Little Italy, etc., get your cameras and Culture Club vinyls ready: Boy George will be cleaning your streets starting August 14. The Department of Sanitation told the Daily News that Boy George will get a "shovel, broom, plastic bags and gloves" when he starts his 5 day community service stint (required after he pleaded guilty to falsely calling in a break-in). The DoS says that the singer will very likely be cleaning up in Chinatown, as "A lot of tourist traffic means a lot of street litter." Wow, Boy George cleaning up various grocery detritus on jam-packed Canal Street in sweltering August weather! You'll be able to tell it's the singer born George O'Dowd if he does wear a Big Bird outfit, but it would be cuter if he wore outfits coordinated to the different neighborhoods. A velour tracksuit in Little Italy, a Mao jacket in Chinatown - the possibilities are endless!

i'm tempted to quit my job and camp out in chinatown just to witness this. but then i realize that it would be really hot and smelly.
