Sunday Subway Suicide Attempt

2006_07_72ndsub.jpgYesterday morning, a man lost his leg after an uptown 2 train him at the West 72nd Street station. It is believed the 50 year old postal worker was suicidal, since he walked off the platform and onto the tracks around 10:20AM. AMNY reports that the man "hit his head against a rail before" the train ran over his leg. He is still in critical condition at St. Luke's, with his left leg severed and a crushed windpipe, according to police.

Sounds like he went postal. har har.

Is he going to sue the MTA for not stopping on time? It's been done before. A drunken dishwasher fell on the tracks and sued. 12 morons on the jury awarded him a bunch of the MTA's, money, which of course comes out of our pockets.

thats really sad...new yorkers are stiff people...dang imagine if that happened to someone you knew...you'd be pretty messed up? hope the guy's alright
