Let's Your Pets Show Their Pride

2006_06_petpride.jpgIf you've always wanted to give your pet a chance to strut its stuff in a parade - and maybe even meet Liza Minnelli - you must enter Fido or Fluffy in the Rubyfruit Pet Pride Pageant! The Pageant is next Saturday, June 24, but registration closes at midnight on Sunday, so think about your pet and these categories:
- Cutest Pet
- Pet & Person Look-Alike
- Most Talented Pet
- Proudest Senior Pet
- Butch/Femme Fashion Showdown

Liza (with a Z) will be crowning the category winers and the Grand Prize winner, who will get to ride in the Pet Pride Mobile at the Gay Pride March on June 25. And don't worry - your pet can be straight or gay (or whatever he/she may be) to enter.

You can register online here or at the Rubyfruit Bar & Grill at 531 Hudson Street (that's where the pageant will be held next weekend). There is a $20 registration fee, which goes to the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals, which helps supports shelters that take in animals to make NYC a no-kill community.

Poor doggie, he's probably not even gaygay.

I wish they had a category for "gayest pets" because my 2 male cats would totally win (for example, this morning they were spooning in a chair). But $20 per pet to enter? I don't think I need to spend $40 to know how gay my cats are.

My dog is into chickens, can he enter?

hahahahaha, gay dawg
