2006 FDNY Calendar of Heroes

2005_07_firefighters.jpg

Besides the Calvin Klein live perfume ad, there's some interesting action in Times Square today: FDNY firefighters will be at Duffy Square (the TKTS island) between 11AM-3PM autographing copies of the new 2006 Calendar of Heroes! There are apparently some firefighter models in their 40s in the calendar (hey, George Clooney, Johnny Depp, and Brad Pitt are all in their 40s) for the calendar to have a broader appeal. Sigh, we guess we'll get one of these for our mom. Gothamist wonders if the Naked Cowboy will be upset that the Bravest are invading his turf?

You can also order a calendar at the Fire Zone (we're not sure if standing is allowed) - proceeds go to the FDNY Fire Safety Education Fund. And Gothamist on the 2004 and 2005 calendars.

I've seen this calendar in the past and don't know what the big deal is, a bunch of inbred looking guys with nice bodies. I think the only part I like are the hair cuts because they are really funny and often look like they have more product than hair on their heads.

Disagree with that. And if this picture didn't add to the already hot day, I'd be thinking straight enough to say explain exactly what you mean by "inbred looking guys".

I agree with Rose,

This calender is great....Money goes to a great Charity, and the guys are awesome looking....I make it a habit to buy one every year since 2000.....have to admit this one is one of the best...anyone agree.....
