Thanksgiving Day Parade Countdown

Mark your calendars: Next Wednesday, November 24, is when the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade ballooons will be blown up along Central Park West, at West 81st and West 77th Street. Gothamist was there last year and had a great time, navigating our way through a mob of parents and their children ("BARNEY!!!!"). Thanksgiving is traditionally Gothamist's favorite holiday, since it centers around eating a lot of yummy food. New York magazine has had a great Thanksgiving planner, with recipes as well as tips (places to eat, shops to get treats, events); we've been stocking up on butternut squash and eyeing various pie recipes. What are you doing for your Thanksgiving?
Here's more information on Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Last year, we saw a balloon orgy of sorts at the blow-up.

That photograph is truly excellent.
i had a great time checking out the balloons last year - definitely recommend it!
My puerto-rican aunt in law visited my wife and I yesterday, and we made pumpkin flan. Delicious! Much more interesting that your run-of-the-mill pumpkin pie.
