Wheeling and Dealing

It's not quite a blinging chrome hubcap, but Gothaimst supposes the Taxi and Limousine Commission will take what it can get: The Post reports that taxi hubcabs are the latest vehicle for advertisements. AdFleet Advertising's president says, "Advertisers are always looking for new places to sell their products, and this is one place people will remember. We want to help make an ad memorable." Or dizzying. Gothamist questions whether people are looking at hubcaps, but given that New Yorkers like bright, shiny, colorful objects, we suppose the ads have some sort of merit. We are suspicious of any hypnotizing elements, though, that the advertisers will try to insert into the designs and hope that the TLC increase their insurance, lest any claims of people getting hurt while trying to read what is being advertised on spinning wheels. And this better mean that the taxi fares won't go up again for a while.

Does anyone else think it's odd that they're apparently advertising an alcoholic beverage (It looks like some sort of vodka) on a moving vehicle? I get that the point of taxis is that we don't have to drive ourselves anywhere, but the juxtaposition still seems odd to me.
looks like the Virgin logo to me.
Well, the hubcaps don't spin...so don't worry about getting dizzy.
Anyone else think this is the precursor to yellow cabs becoming totally covered in ads (much like some busses)? So long yellow cabs.
RS - what about like the cars in nascar. i mean, half the time they drive like that anyway.
You guys need London black taxis soooo badly. They seat 5-6 and can turn in the street without doing a three point turn. The only problem is that there are fewer and fewer that are actually black :-( More and more are covered in ads. Moving billboards shouldn't surprise us though as we only need to look at Victorian photographs to see how bad it was then.
