Subway of Luv

2004_08_ftrain.jpg

Deep into the gentrification along the F train in Brooklyn, the NY Post looks at how love, or at least like, blossoms underground. This comes after the announcement of how some subway cars are "singles trains" and popularity of looking at missed connections on craigslist. Gothamist has heard a few stories of people meeting on the subway, as well as read those stories in the Weddings section of the Times. The one time we were approached on the F train, it turned out the person had some sort of serious significant other - which we found out two dates in. Oh, well!

Flak magazine looked Riding the Love Train. And how can you not think of The O'Jays song, Love Train, which also played during the closing shots of The Last Days of Disco. Another F train we enjoy: Paul Ford's Ftrain.

gotta love the F train! it's even got it's own lounge

Wish I lived in a city where there was a vibrant public transit hookup scene!! Just think about all of the things you can learn about someone you see on the bus/subway: what they look like in the mornings, where they live, what section of the paper they like to read first and if they're considerate of old ladies.

The first car is where the flirting happens? I don't know...I remember once someone on Craig's tried to set up an elaborate set of "signals" for flirting hipsters(thank you Black Table!) I've heard about the F-train's new "coolness" factor...but I get on and off from Gravesend...a no hipster/no flirting zone I believe.

I heard wiping it is the new first car.

Hey, this is like what happens on the N Judah here in San Francisco, which is almost the official train for craigslist... both our office and my home are on the N line.
