Sure, the road was wet in Long Island, and the police say there were no drugs or alcohol involved, but come one - this was his third accident in two years. His car insurance must be crazy. It was after his June 2002 car accident, the first publicized one, that Joel checked himself into the substance abuse center, Silver Hill Hospital - where Mariah Carey also went for her "fatigue." Joel's second accident was in January 2003, when he crashed into a tree. Anyway, an onlooker/resident who is luckily safe from Joel's crazy car told the AP that Joel "seemed embarrassed that he lost control of the car. He said, 'I can't believe I got in another accident.' He was just going out to get a pizza." Pizza? Yes, the Post says that he's a regular at Gus' Pizzeria. The Daily News also adds that Joel was in the hospital last September for a wrist break and earlier this month after cutting his finger on a can of beans. Really - which makes Gothamist think Joel is like the Samuel L. Jackson character, Elijah Price, in Unbreakable.
