Batman: Intimidation

Gothamist can't help it: News that Ken Watanabe is joining the cast of Batman: Intimidation as villain Ra's Al Ghul does make us excited, as does the news of the rest of the cast: Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Michael Caine as butler Alfred, Katie Holmes as childhood friend "Rachel," Liam Neeson as Wayne's mentor Henri Ducard, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, "a former board member and sidelined employee of Wayne Enterprises," Cillian Murphy as Jonathan Crane and Dennis Quaid is a young Officer Gordan.
We even look forward to the inevitable Vanity Fair Hollywood Issue spread of the Batman actors, although here's hoping Christopher Nolan will put a stop to that, but we know how much the movie studios love getting in that thankless issue.

hopefully it's a lot better than batman and robin. man, that was painful.
Batman Forever was also not in any way good. It basically just really really loud.
wow what a gamble on the part of the studios to make another sequel. they're really pushing the envelope these days.
The main problem with the whole Batman series is the suit -- the holes in it are too small to let the acting out.
TV's Batman had a suit that breathed.
Holy Hottness Batman.
This is a prequel right? Young Gordon, childhood friend Rachel, younger Bruce Wayne actor...
I can't wait. I hope the direction is good, as it should be by Memento director Nolan. I feel crushed that Batman's been subjected to so much horror in 3 and 4. I loved 1 and 2.
Even if the movie's bad, I'd probably go just to see this ensemble of actors. And as someone who read Batman comics before most of you whippersnappers were alive, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox seems like excellent casting.
is this the one that was supposed to be based on the Batman: Year One storyline? If so, great! I remember a few years back when Nolans name was mentioned, there was the idea going around of two batman films being produced at one time, the Year One being one of them, the other being the Batman Beyond character, and one rumored director was Darren Aronofsky.
WB apparently knows they made a mess of the series and are now pretending as if the other four movies didn't exist. And are relaunching the whole Batman series with Intimidation and will never reference the other films in later projects.
Neps: Yeah, it's based on Year One concepts. In addition to this and the Aronofsky Batman Beyond idea, there was a Batman/Superman treatment (or even possibly a script), to which Wolfgang Peterson was briefly attached.
I think WB threw a bunch of Bat-ideas against the wall to see what would stick.
Dietsches: yeah, the batman/superman one was the one that most interested me. it was supposed to be dark and akin to the batman/superman battle in the original (1985?) _dark knight_ series. i remember reading that producers didn't think it was commercial enough. go figure...our loss.
I have my doubts about Bale. He looks too slick for Bruce WAyne. hOWEVER mICHAEL CAINE WILL MAKE A WONDERFUL ALFREd AND WHATS THIS CHILDHOOD FRIEND bit about katie holmes we want vickie val back -she was always the best for the dark knight barring ofcourse the deadly ms Kyle
Man! I just checked the batman logo in the batman begins official site. Sorry to say I thought it is shit! The colour adds a somewhat bronze glazed feel but the design -it is horrible!!!!Just hope the movie doesn't follow suit.
I have just recently found out about this film, the first I heard of it was on ET or Access Hollywood. They were talking to Hally Berry, they mentioned that she was gona be the new Catwoman, they asked her about her costuim, they even had a pic of he in it. Now I'm not saying this site is wrong, maybe they rewrote and recast? but I don't think a tv news show about movies and what not would talk about a movie that isn't being made, and I dout that a star like Hally Berry would talk about being in a movie she wasn't in, I just thought if all you were really into knowing about the new Batman movie would want to know what they "might" really be doing
I can't fathom what is going through the minds of the creators of these films. They could be at this point secretly working for Marvel to sabotage DC movies.
Pros: the Batmobile- good upgrade from the other movies. Strong and Scary works. that's the end of the pros.
Cons: The actors- all of them, but special attention to Batman. Bruce lost his family at a young age and trained ever since. Nobody who has trained for a minimum of ten years already, would look like Mr. Bale.
The costume- only these actors would need foam rubber to look strong, P.S. Nowhere in the Comics does Batman wear anything like that.
Even without seeing the movie...
The fighting, Gotham, Script, bad guys, gadgets, all of these will be terrible.
This will be another movie that will have to be forgotten before they can make more. If you want to see what a real Batman should be, watch the fanfilm Batman Dead End short film, better than anything made to date.
Ok i dont get how the story will fit in with the original. The first film was the start of batman so how does this part fit in.
