Letter from the Publisher

Today we'd like to introduce a new feature: the Gothamist Interview, written by Andrew Krucoff. The inaugural interview is with none other than Lockhart Steele, Lower East Side icon and famous dilettante. Other interviews on tap for this week: Chuck Klosterman of Spin, Danielle Romano of Daily Candy, and a surprise guest who may go by the name of Choire Sicha (girls, get your engines ready!). Andrew has an amusing interview style that is part Proust questionnaire, part People magazine, part insane stalker. Gothamist finds it rather compelling, and hope you will as well. Also be sure to check out Andrew's other site, The Other Page, where he blogs on a number of eclectic topics.

We've got a number of other features in mind for Gothamist, and plan on opening at least one free-for-all message board in the near future. If anyone is interested in signing up to be the referee on our board, we'd love to hear from you. Same if you've got ideas for new Gothamist features, or want to pitch in a hand on our ever expanding New York lovefest. Email Jake, or leave suggestions in the comments on this post.

Ooooooh, Choire Sicha! Will you be auctioning off his underoos as well? Please?

i suppose you have to be living in ny to volunteer for any of that.. :: sniff ::

Keep on growing, guys. I heart Gothamist.

I know you guys don't like semi-nonymous comments, but: daily interviews? I hope you don't wear poor Andrew Krucoff out! (Or your loyal, but shy readers....)

hey david, thanks for the concern. i only fear wearing the concept and my welcome out. but really, there are just three personalized "interview" questions per person while the rest of the items are standard (a new york version of the proust questionnaire I created) and given to everyone. they answer how many of those they choose to. feedback has been good so far. i think this will remain interesting for quite some time, but my fingers are still crossed. also, thank you jake and jen!
