A taste of chinatown, a taste of chinatown...now why does that ring a bell? For pete's sake, Gothamist, it's like you're posting to me and me alone.

(Insert blushing, innocent-eyed Treo emoticon smiley face here)

Sunny and a high of 70!

Now would it be as memorable if not for the hurricane? I think there's still one "chinese tamale" left in the vegetable crisper.

Never again. I'll leave A Taste of Chinatown to the tourists. It was a wall-to-wall zoo last time I went. And for what? Small portions of a limited selection not worth the small savings, except at a few very popular places, where the line was 100 people long and the wait was 20 minutes. I'm not that desperate.

Thanks for the reminder for Taste of Chinatown. It's crowded, but it can be fun if you go with other people. That makes waiting on lines more tolerable.

I agree that it is a wall-to-wall zoo, but I once went with other people and enjoyed myself.

Harris:
I agree--Super-cool atmosphere. I once once went with another person but was a total bitch, so could use another go eventually. Hindsight is valuable.

I'm with you too, Harris - going anywhere with people you enjoy can make anything tolerable. Although - weird coincidence #7 - I myself once went with someone who was a total bitch at the time, but the circumstances were less than ideal, in her defense. We laughed about it later. Much later. Like a year.

-- "If a person's foresight were as good as their hindsight, we would all get somewhere."
Chinese Proverb

ts- Are you chinese? So wise...Although, I dunno about the defense. If she was as cool a cool girl as you claim, she would have made the most of what she had as well as realized how good she had it.

I think you might be right, ck - I wish she had realized how good she had it too; she was a cool girl, but was being pulled in many different ways. Maybe I could get you two together and you can tell her all you've learned, as you've clearly got some insight into the ways of the heart. Where were you when I needed you? Coincidentally, I think she may have called late last night, but alas - I was knocked out by a sleeping aid.

weird! if she called, then it was sleep calling and was remembered by neither her nor her phone.

It's a mystery, then. But how would you know? Have you gotten together already? How did the meeting go?

You're right: Total. Bitch.

Nah - that must not've been her. Foolish, maybe - not a bitch.

The good kind of bitch, though-confident, assertive, self-posessed. I like her. Hot, too. And smart, classy, and...likeable. Bright future ahead. A future that 50% begins in 4 days, then fully commences in 20.

She does have this weird thing for figs and grapes, though.

That DOES sound like that girl I know. The fig and grape part was the clincher. Intriguing about her future - I wonder what it could be! On air science reporting? Bill Nye production coordinator? Independent film shoot?

I wonder if the word choice of 'commence' is significant here...

I wonder what it could be, too! Let me know if you find out.

You're the one that knows her so well. I'm trying to find out through you!

She won't tell me!

Hmph. Well, curiousity is piqued. Happy for her.

She said she's happy for you, too.

Well, I don't have anything life changing beginning in 4 days, then fully commencing in 20, but thanks. Maybe she's celebrating A Taste Of Chinatown?

No, she's not.

Not that she wouldn't love to (weird thing for bubble tea and east asian culture in general, too), but she's not.

Does it rhyme with spladulation?

Ew, gross word!
Of course. She's a very big girl now--or at least will be soon--not the budding, underage sophomore she once was.

Amazing! Super exciting - a new chapter. A lot can happen in two (or four) years, huh? How quickly does two (or four) years go by, huh? How slow is three friggin' months, huh? How far she's come. Proud.

Actually, she feels like the 4 yrs have gone be tediously slow, because all they've done is been limiting and fucked with her anxious mind.
3 months? Yeah, I have nooo idea how long that's been, seriously.

Ah! Well, the four limiting, tedious years are soon over. Just 20 more limiting, tedious days until the future. And I guess February being a short month must've thrown you off.

That must be it.

Flew by?

Not exactly. Neither flew nor dragged, because when the situation is what it is, it didn't matter to keep track anymore. I guess because there was no end point of keeping track, then there was no point in beginning. It's not that I was/am thought free, but that I never thought about things with time relevancy. I shut that out. I don't want to connect my own ticking clock temporally to something that is not a part of my life anymore, it can weigh on a person. Memories were/are not really attached to time, they run wild, and I have patience and let them be.

It's kinda like a brain injury...? Anyway, sorry for the ambiguous tenses.

I guess three months is three months no matter what, but it's been a long three, even with the 28 day-er.

Long how?

Get that?
