- Today on Gothamist Newsmap: a barricaded emotionally disturbed person/stabbing on Parsons Blvd. in Queens, an overturned auto on Bushwick Ave. in Brooklyn, and a stabbing on Staten Island's Taylor St.

- We don't remember this gambit from our Debate Club days, but a verbal argument among four men in Washington Heights early this morning was decided when three of the participants got into a car and ran over the fourth man, who is now hospitalized in critical condition.
- A former city sanitation worker was arrested for stealing from the comptroller's office. His scheme involved copying bank account numbers from workers' compensation checks, then having money automatically transferred to a bank account he set up under the inconspicuous alias "John Awesome."
- 20-year-old man tired of "non-stop ridicule" finally undergoes breast reduction surgery. Perhaps missing just a little of that ridicule, Scott Schulman then agrees to be pictured in The Daily News talking about his breast reduction surgery.
